Hi friends,
I have long dreamed of purchasing yarn in bulk. While I have bought multiple yarns at once before, none have ever been as large as this. A few months ago, when Yarnspirations had a promotion offering 40% off site-wide, I knew I had to take advantage of it. Initially, I planned to buy just a few skeins, but after some consideration, I decided to purchase the minimum amount required to qualify for free shipping. That minimum turned out to be 80 USD.
With my budget set, I began scrolling through the website, selecting the colors and types of yarn I wanted to buy. By the time I finished, I had added 40 skeins to my cart. There were 16 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver, 21 skeins of Bernat Handcrafter Cotton and 3 skeins of Caron All Day Cotton.
With the yarns all carefully selected and placed in my cart, I finally made my way to the checkout page, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. The vibrant colours and textures of the yarns danced in my mind as I imagined all the creative projects I could embark on. However, as I approached the final step of the purchasing process, I encountered an unexpected hurdle. My card, despite having sufficient funds, kept declining with each attempt I made to complete the transaction.
This situation left me feeling disheartened and frustrated. I gazed at my cart, which was now adorned with a wonderful 50% discount, making the temptation even stronger. To add to my disappointment, I had also received an additional 10% off since this was my very first order from the store. The idea of missing out on such an incredible deal was truly disheartening. I couldn't help but wish for a resolution that would allow me to finally confirm my order and bring those beautiful yarns home.
I pondered what my next move would be for a couple of days, feeling a heavy weight on my shoulders as uncertainty clouded my thoughts. I found myself incredibly down, to the point where I decided to seek some peace in sleep. As I lay in bed one day, I closed my eyes and turned to prayer, asking the Lord for a sign of what to do next. It felt like a pivotal moment; I needed guidance and clarity.
When I woke up, my mind was still swirling with possibilities, but the first thought that came to me was surprising yet comforting—I should call my step-mom. It seemed like such a simple decision, but in that moment, it felt like a spark of hope. Without wasting any time, I picked up my phone and dialled her number. Our conversation was warm and uplifting; she was more than willing to help.
Together, we went through the details of my needs, and before I knew it, I had placed my order successfully. It felt like a small victory amid the chaos of my thoughts. After finalising everything, I promptly transferred the money back to her, grateful for her support and understanding.
With the order placed, a wave of relief washed over me, but it was quickly followed by that familiar feeling of anticipation and anxiety. The waiting began. I couldn’t shake off the excitement mixed with nervousness, wondering how soon it would arrive and whether it would all turn out as I hoped. During this waiting period, I found myself reflecting on the power of reaching out for help and how, sometimes, just a simple call can set things in motion toward change and relief.
A few days later, I received an email notifying me of potential delays in the processing of my order. The message explained that there was a large volume of orders to be fulfilled, which I completely understood given the sale. Despite my eagerness, I decided to wait patiently and repeatedly checked my email to see if there were any updates on the delivery status.
Each day felt like an eternity as I imagined the beautiful yarn that would soon be part of my collection. My excitement grew with each passing moment. Finally, I received the long-awaited email announcing that my order had shipped. I felt an overwhelming sense of joy and relief; I could hardly contain my anticipation. Just a little longer, I thought, and I would be able to dive into my next project with the lovely yarn that I had chosen.
Out of the three brands I purchased, I had prior experience with Red Heart Super Saver and Bernat Handcrafters. I was eager to experiment with the new colours and textures that I had selected. The thought of all the creative possibilities filled me with inspiration, and I could hardly wait to start crafting again.
Guys, it's finally here... Do you wanna see? I know you want to!!!
Until next time, let's be friends!
